Excursions

As powerful images, models – much like ruins – serve to construct history, explain the present and generate the future. The recurring rise and fall of Dessau seems somehow to draw such connections together like a burning glass. Excursions to the City Museum of History Dessau and the Municipal Archive Dessau-Roßlau also examine these connections. Further excursions relate the classical ensemble of the Castle and Park Georgium and locations of the Bauhaus Dessau with Wörlitzer Park as the centre of the so-called Garden Kingdom of Dessau-Wörlitz, presenting observations and insights from different epochs and time periods.

The excursions to the Wörlitzer Park organized by Werkleitz are offered in conjunction with the Kulturstiftung Dessau-Wörlitz and with the Architektur Radikal festival of the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation.
