Petra Reichensperger

Petra Reichensperger (DE, 1966) is a writer, lecturer and curator. She has directed the Kunsthaus Dresden – Städtische Galerie für Gegenwartskunst since February 2011. After completing her doctoral thesis in cultural studies and aesthetic practice she worked as research assistant at the Hamburg Kunsthalle from 2000 to 2002. From 2008 to 2009 she was artistic director of the exhibition space and artists' residency M.1 in the Arthur Boskamp-Stiftung in Hohenlockstedt. In 2010 she was responsible for the Goethe Institute project Raum für Raum (Space for Space) in central Asia and East Europe. In her writings, Reichensperger deals with the relation between theatricality and performativity, space and temporality, art and the public sphere. She is presently working on a series of exhibitions and publications entitled Terms of exhibiting, producing and performing*.
