Eröffnung der Ausstellung Oil. Schönheit und Schrecken des Erdölzeitalters

27.09.23

'Oil. Beauty and Horror in the Petrol Age' is the first historically and geographically comprehensive retrospective of artistic positions dealing with crude oil, its derivates, and the historic process fueled by oil. The visitors are invited to a retrospective on an era that we need to better understand in order to take an active part in the design of its end.

The exhibition was curated by Benjamin Steininger and Alexander Klose (curators, Beauty of Oil collective). Alexander Klose also co-curated the Werkleitz Festival 2019 Model and Ruin [Model and Ruin]. One of the artists presented is Christoph Girardet, who was represented at Modell und Ruine [Model and Ruin] with his works The Eternal Lesson & Fabric.
