Based on objective data on the Trotha district we will speculate on alternative urban organizational forms. Using design methods, the organization, identity and visuality of the location will be examined and the results will be combined in new manners. In observing, examining and portraying the city district of Trotha we will seek not merely to describe the location but instead to explore the potential of design as a practice that does not so much “reflect” reality as it does create it. How can we utilize insights into organization, identity and visuality to generate a new coherent whole? Can supposedly objective data be used as a basis for speculations on and a vision of a “New Trotha”?
