Matt Gingold is currently artist in residence at Werkleitz Gesellschaft. With an early love for photography, music and computers his practice bridges sonic installation, experimental documentary, live film, programming and performance art. Matthew Gingold will present a survey of recent works, ideas and projects – those that have been doomed to fail and those that may be doomed to succeed. His works have been presented in Asia, Europe, North and South America, as well as in his homeland of Australia.

Currently he is exploring the psychophysical affect and effect of technologies on, and within 'bodies' – from musique concrète to (sham)animism, neurobiology to artificial and unofficial intelligence, he is fascinated by the (biosociopolisexuatechnical) forces at the interface of 'being/body' and 'device/machine'.

In the European Media Artists in Residence Exchange (EMARE) grant at Werkleitz Matthew Gingold develops a new work which will be premiered at Werkleitz Festival 2015 .move ON in October in Halle.

The artist talk is moderated by Peter Zorn.
