Inke Arns

Inke Arns, born 1968 in Duisdorf/Bonn, Germany. Lived in Paris from 1982-1986. From 1988 – 1996 she studied Eastern European Studies, Political Science, and Art History in Berlin and Amsterdam, PhD thesis at Humboldt-University Berlin 2004. Since the early 1990s independent curator and writer specializing in media art, net cultures, and Eastern Europe. Curated recently, e.g. Irwin: Retroprincip 1983–2003 (2003), History Will Repeat Itself (2007), Anna Kournikova ... Art in the Age of Intellectual Property (2008) and Awake Are Only the Spirits (2009). She has held teaching positions at universities and art academies in Berlin, Leipzig, Rotterdam, and Zurich, and has lectured and published internationally. Since 2005 artistic director of Hartware MedienKunstVerein (HMKV), Dortmund.
