Das Werkleitz Festival für Medienkunst schaut 2012 nach Mexiko
Nicht Apokalypto, sondern Que Viva Mexico und Explore Europe heißt es 2012 für fünf europäische und vier mexikanische Künstler, die von einer internationalen Jury des von Werkleitz initiierten European Media Art Networks für das EMARE MEX (European Media Artist in Residence Exchange in Mexiko) Stipendium ausgewählt wurden. Während eines zweimonatigen Aufenthaltes werden die Medienkünstler in den nächsten Monaten die Kultur ihrer Gastländer erkunden und ein neues Kunstwerk produzieren. Die Resultate gibt es zusammen mit vier weiteren Arbeiten des Werkleitz Mexikostipendiums vom 5. bis 21. Oktober in einer gemeinsamen Ausstellung .move forward - new mexican and european media art in Halle (Saale) zu sehen.
.move forward ist die Fortführung und Erweiterung der erfolgreichen Ausstellung .move – Neue Europäische Medienkunst, die Werkleitz mit dem European Media Art Network und vielen regionalen Partnern 2009 in Halle veranstaltete.
.move forward – das Werkleitz Festival setzt 2012 den Fokus auf Mexiko. Neben 13 neuen Medieninstallationen von mexikanischen und europäischen Künstlern präsentiert das Werkleitz Festival Highlights der mexikanischen Film- und Musikszene.
The 2012 Werkleitz Festival for Media Art looks to Mexico
"Not Apocalypto, but rather Que Viva Mexico and Explore Europe" are the mottos for the five European and four Mexican artists awarded grants in 2012 by an international jury for EMARE MEX (European Media Artist in Residence Exchange with Mexico), a Werkleitz initiative. During a two months sojourn, the media artists will explore the culture of their host countries and create a new artwork. The results, together with four other pieces from the Werkleitz Mexico stipend, will be on show in a group exhibition .move forward - new mexican and european media art in Halle (Saale) from October 5 to 21.
.move forward continues and expands the successful .move – Neue Europäische Medienkunst exhibition, organised by Werkleitz in cooperation with the European Media Art Network and numerous regional partners in Halle in 2009.
.move forward – das Werkleitz Festival focuses in 2012 on Mexico. In addition to the 13 new media installations from Mexican and European artists, Werkleitz Festival will present highlights from the Mexican film and music scene.
