Visiting Artist Christoph Faulhaber
Top of the heap. New York. 2002. For his MFA at the academy of fine arts, Hamburg, Christoph Faulhaber worked on public processes which were following the reconstruction of Ground Zero. Since then he has watched public security as „Mister Security”, has begged for money in front of Burberry chain stores, has slaughtered chicken infected with bird flue and entertained the audience of an exhibition opening and collected restraining orders and preliminary proceedings until he has made it on the US’ terrorism blacklist. Faulhaber has experimented furthermore with expresso pots, has dumped Cuban real estate to potential buyers from Florida, has installed a live stream from the high security building site of German BND and founded a Guantanamo reception camp in Hamburg. The connection between all of this he is going to reveal in a freshly made fiction film (“Spielfilm”).
