O Quam Tristis (O How Sad)
How to learn from the cinema: In William Whyler’s The Big Country (1958) the actors Gregory Peck and Charlton Heston do battle in the wide open landscape the whole night long into the next morning. By this means they manage to get their problems solved. This physical confrontation was the inspiration for a home movie in which a grown daughter fights with her mother accompanied by a chorus “Love me, love me, pretend that you love me”.
