Berlin based artist Egemen Demirci investigates the conceptual limits of space, spatial perception and politics/poetics of space in the context of contemporary art referring to architectural realities, topographic scenarios, and urban transformation. He mostly shaped his work through proposals, conversations, maps, rendering and sketches. Recently, he is mainly interested in moments of change and crisis as well as how they are socially and politically connected to each other. In his research process, he strongly refers to the perception of reality as one of the fundamental concerns of politics and talks about the detachment from the reality, which puts us in a contradictory situation, where we are surrounded by “things” that are variable and constructed, appearing and/or disappearing absent of their existential qualities – qualities that make them things – making the setting immanent.
